Forest Green Wool New Look Jacket & Midi Skirt Suit

STYLE NOTES

A celebration of the sculpted waist and generous skirt proportions of mid-century couture, this two-piece suit is cut in deep forest green wool for an elegant, distinctly feminine approach to traditional tailoring.

The jacket is shaped closely through the waist before releasing into a subtle peplum over the hip. Defined shoulders, a traditional notched lapel and three pearl-effect buttons give structure to the front, while a precisely panelled back follows the contours of the body and finishes with a small centre vent.

The coordinating midi skirt falls from a fitted waist into a full, sweeping silhouette, creating movement without sacrificing the formality of the tailoring.

Worn together, the pieces create a beautifully balanced hourglass silhouette. Separately, both are designed to become enduring wardrobe pieces in their own right.

MATERIALS

Jacket: Wool outer with structured tailoring construction and lining. Finished with pearl-effect and gold-tone buttons at the front and cuffs.

Skirt: Wool outer with a full, softly structured silhouette and lining.

ITEM CARE

Dry clean only.

To preserve the shape of the tailoring, store the jacket on a broad, supportive hanger and avoid overcrowding in the wardrobe.

Hang the skirt from its waistband using padded or protected clips to prevent marking the fabric.

Allow wool garments to air naturally between wears. Light surface lint may be removed with a soft clothes brush. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture, direct heat and strong sunlight.

For long-term storage, clean before putting away and protect from moths using a breathable garment bag.

STYLING TIPS

Wear the complete suit with pointed courts, a structured handbag and statement millinery for weddings, race days and formal daytime occasions. Ivory, camel and warm metallic accessories beautifully soften the depth of the forest green.

For a less formal interpretation, wear the jacket separately with high-waisted trousers or dark denim, or pair the full wool skirt with fine merino knitwear and knee-high leather boots.

For traditional occasion dressing, add an ivory or natural straw hat. The warm neutral straw and oversized ivory flowers create a particularly beautiful contrast against the deep forest green wool, while pearl jewellery echoes the jacket buttons without competing with the tailoring.
